This page has been built up since 2004. - I keep adding to it, I hope you too will feel the gentle power of what the Method can offer when you read other's experiences - when I visit here myself it puts me back in touch with why I offer what I offer - yes, sometimes I need reminding!


"My back needs loosening and straightening if possible" and after 3 sessions:

"Dear Nikhila, I want to report back to you on my progress. The day after my last session I had to alter the mirror in my car to move it upwards to my new height. Yesterday, I had to go to the dentist - I found it such a better experience as I could sit in the chair comfortably. My head no longer feels as if it is coming off when I have to lie flat. I can also now lie on the floor without any books and am delighted. Thank you so much for your help. It is hard to describe to anyone else how Feldenkrais works as the movements in the session feel so small compared to the results. Best wishes, JC".


"I think the main thing for me from the classes has been the SLOWING me down, to pay attention to detail, to BE HERE close to my body, to myself, to feel the support of the ground, always available, always giving to me.  Over the years, as any round of discomfort has arisen, (like in my back),  I have become more equipped - to relate with it, to give it what it needs.....”

“I came to Nikhila for a series of 1-1 FI sessions to see if she could help me with some long-standing chronic pain problems resulting from injury. Over the course of about ten years I had tried many types of physical therapy, and nothing seemed to help. I had gone past the point of despair many times when I finally discovered Feldenkrais, and suddenly it seemed like there was a way forward. I started with some one-to-one sessions with Nikhila, and straight away I found that my body had the potential to feel very different, to feel like it belonged to me again. I won't say it has been easy, but I have made steady progress through one-to-one sessions and group classes, and have reached a place that I couldn't have thought possible 2 or 3 years ago. Feldenkrais has added a new dimension to my life and my way of thinking. I am really grateful to Nikhila for her sensitivity, and for her skill in working on complex problems and treating the whole person, not just the injury. From my overall experience - (of a mixture of classes, FI's and workshops) Feldenkrais has helped me move from chronic pain and discomfort, to feeling comfortable and natural again in my body. "I carry a lot of tension in my lower back and often the area gets so tight that it feels as though the muscles have been knitted together, after one afternoon workshop on exercises to free the chest, I woke the next morning with no muscular tension in my back, when the tension started to return after three weeks, I simply repeated the exercises you taught me. You also helped me to be more aware of when I do tense up those muscles, so I can relax them. A fantastic result, thank you!". Jane S

"The best thing is that ATM helps me be pain-free and better able to do my singing and playing. I love the deep relaxation I feel in the classes which is like a warm bath, a massage and a holiday all put into one - but I also learned to e nice to myself and sort out any problems in a gentle way rather than through pushing harder against things. This makes me feel so good. I always feel that I'd love to stay on the foor longer at the end, just enjoying that nice relaxation for longer, rather than having to get up and walk around. I experience Feldenkrais as a way of 'moving beyond', of 'unlimiting the limited self' - Exploring my mind body connections at the gentle pace of weekly classes I find that the lessons continue a path of mindfulness that I trust.  My nervous system has learned to relax and let me take risks.  The ground becomes safe.
